Come see what SGV Habitat can do now, and take a first step toward home.

Think you can't rebuild?

Talk to us first.

Many homeowners are facing difficult realities:

  • Insurance proceeds that fall short of rebuilding costs
  • Reverse mortgages or existing mortgage debt
  • Limited savings or fixed incomes
  • Rising construction costs
  • Uncertainty about where to begin

If you have started to believe rebuilding may not be possible, talk to us first. Every situation is different, and homeowners are finding they have more options than they realize. Talk to us first and find out.

There is no cost to attend and no obligation to apply. Whether you are ready to rebuild now or simply want to learn, we invite you in.

How it works

How SGV Habitat can help you get home.

Here is what San Gabriel Valley Habitat is doing right now to help you get back in your home as soon as possible.

Real help with the money.
Almost community-wide, insurance is not covering the full rebuild, and we know that. SGV Habitat closes the gap with grants, advancement of recovery funds, and zero-interest options, structured so most families carry no monthly payments, so you can build now.
Real choices, built around you.
Choose from more than forty ready-to-build, county pre-approved, all-electric, fire-resilient designs, then make it yours. Interiors, finishes, and accessibility and aging-in-place features, for how your family lives now and for years to come. No strict size limits, and no two homes the same. A true partner, not a take-it-or-leave-it home.
One partner, start to finish.
Design, permitting, financing, and construction, all under one roof, with one reliable point of contact who walks with you the whole way.

Who we help

We invite everyone.

Whether you have resources or a gap you cannot close on your own, if the fire took your home, we want to talk with you. This Program may be a fit for you if:

  • You owned and lived in your home before the fire.
  • You plan to return and rebuild.
  • You meet our income guidelines, and they are higher than most people expect. Most people are surprised to find they qualify.
You do not need to have all the answers. Come as you are, and we will help you take it one step at a time.
